Book Great Animal Orchestra from Bernie Krause
The Great Animal Orchestra

The Great Animal Orchestra by Bernie Krause

01 august 2015
I highly recommend the book of one of my favorite nature sound recordists and friend Bernie Krause. It is about the importance of the fragile natural soundscapes and the impact of extraneous noise. Bernie tells the story of the music of the wild that he experienced during his 40 years of travelling the world of sound. windshield icon

The film about the black forest used some minutes of my recordings of the of Tawny Owls (Strix aluco)/Waldkäuze near Wiechs am Randen – Southern Germany as and gratefully mentioned my name in the films credits. Opening night was a very rainy night in Titisee-Neustadt. The live soundtrack was played by the orchestra of the Bolschoi Opera Minsk. windshield icon

Corkscrew Sanctuary

Interview with Christine Cook at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary

18 april 2014
Me and my wife spent several days at beautiful Corkscrew Sanctuary near Naples, Florida. The preserve hosts the largest remaining stand of old growth bald cypress in North America. Through good cooperation with the management we were granted to stay on site. Each day I was sighted walking in and out with my gear and so the management decided to include an article about me and my work in their newsletter. Christine spent a whole day with us, took photographs, listened to the recordings and wrote the article. Right-click here windshield icon and choose "Save as..." to download the file (Size: 419 KB)
